The Illusion; Romantic novels

GOOD MORNING... OR EVENING... and so on depending on where the good Lord decided to place u on this here planet. I was thinking about books, I recently picked up reading, (like in the last three months) and i have to say that i would pick a romantic novel ten times over any other genre of work... don't get me wrong, my aim is not to appear shallow, or of little brain capacity, but after my encounter with the likes of Jodi Thomas and her kind, I finally joined the wagon.

Romantic novels were all the rage in the early 1980s, but ask any NORMAL girl what novel they would read from cover to cover... (tell them to be honest) ... they will HONESTLY tell you, a romantic novel. Personally I spend at least Ksh. 1000 every fortnight getting myself a new romantic novel and i enjoy them thoroughly, why... because such men to not exist in this day and era, unless you are talking fiction, i can list a gazillion or so.

Clearly we ladies are obsessed with the illusion of the perfect specimen of a man, the man with the perfect jaw line, soft pink lips (somehow always parted), dark mysterious eyes that we could look into forever, gun-shows for arms... perfect abs.. tall drink of water... ayayaiii! You feel me.

But by God, I will not forget the one novel that shocked me to bits, Fifty Shades of Grey. What! I read all three books within a span of three weeks and I have to say that am a different girl, I have grown a mile, and would never ever EVERRR fall for the illusion that is a picture perfect man. Just saying, the prettier, the more arrogant, sadistic, heartless, thoughtless the man... and visa v. So ladies, remember, that man in that book is an illusion, and if you find one, like him walking and talking to ya, run! Save yourself!

Nekh.
