Rocking Natural Hair.

The new trend is rocking the natural texture of your hair... it may prove difficult but minasan [Ladies and Gentlemen] (Where else will i get to show off my VERY VERY VERY little Japanese)... I have the answer. If you want to rock your African kink and do not know how... cuz your hair freezes fast and forms a cotton candy like ball on your head... read on...

Personally i have very curly African hair, I blow-dry it and i give it six hours and it curled up and is in a bun... don't believe me... check it out...
So i came up with this thing... i wash my hair, with shampoo, a mild brand and condition it, comb it through with the conditioner... (you know the drill) the rinse off. After that when the hair is still wet, i plait matuta (braid) or lines/cornrows (Huge ones to create large curls). You can also use rollers, to achieve the same result. Then i let the hair dry naturally or blow with a blow drier. Or let the hair stay like that over night. When you feel ready, undo the cornrows or matuta (Braid) and oil your hair, your hair will have beautiful curls at this point. Do not comb it, use the pointed end of a jelly comb and just run it through to separate the curls and rock your hairdo. You can put a clip on the sides, or wear a band, of even rock the Afro... your choice.I do this all the time.and never have to worry that the wind will mess ma hair (the do is very resilient to climate changes... I swear!)

PS, this hair do in Nairobi,Kenya is called Ethiopian and it cost a whooping 2000 Kenya shillings to get a a high-end salon in the city.

  1. Incisive post. A pity I cannot try that hair-do but would appreciate a chic with it.
